About Dr. Polly Ma --
Dr. Ma earned her first dental degree, D.D.S., from National Taiwan University in 1993. She completed 4-year residency training at National Taiwan University Hospital, Department of Dentistry from 1993 to 1997. Then she moved to the States, attended University of Pennsylvania and earned her American dental degree, D.M.D., in 2000. Inspired and encouraged by her instructor at Penn, she then applied and was accepted by the world-renowned prosthodontics specialty program at the University of Washington. After 3 and half years of additional study, she received the certificate in Prosthodontics and her Master’s Degree in 2004.
After graduating, she stayed on as full-time faculty member at UW. She was a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Division of Prosthodontics from 2004 to 2008. The courses she was responsible of teaching included Introduction to Complete Dentures (Course director); Clinical Complete Dentures (Course director); Removable Partial Denture Design (Instructor); Removable Partial Denture Clinical Preparatory Course (Instructor); Clinical Prosthodontics (Instructor); Clinical Prosthodontic Maintenance (Instructor); Implant Dentistry (Advisor); Clinical Restorative Dentistry (Instructor); Advanced Clinical Restorative Dentistry (Instructor). While teaching, Dr. Ma also maintained a part-time private practice in Edmonds area till 2012. In October 2012, she took over Dr. Dean Irwin's office and started her own full-time private practice in Seattle's Lake City area.
Dr. Ma holds professional memberships in the American Dental Association (ADA), Washington State Dental Association (WSDA), Seattle-King County Dental Society (SKCDS), American College of Prosthodontists (ACP), and the Washington State Society of Prosthodontists (WSSP), American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM). Currently she serves as the president for the WSSP. In 2017, she earned "Qualified Dentist designation" from American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM).
Dr. Ma is especially passionate about removable prosthodontics and geriatric dentistry. In the past, she has given lectures on various topics, such as --

She always takes more than required continuing education courses every year in order to keep her on top of the new development of research, technology and material. Just to name a few, she has taken "Harness the Power of Digital Dentistry symposium" offered by ACP; "Improving the Oral Health of Your Older Patients" offered by UW; the 24th Annual Meeting of American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine; the 2015 Pacific Northwest Dental Conference; and Bioclear Composite Workshop in 2015.
Dr. Ma was voted as Top Dentist by peer in Seattle Metropolitan Magazine in 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018.
